The Gift of Chess Team Tours Kenya and Malawi

From March 22nd to April 3rd, members of The Gift of Chess team traveled across Kenya and Malawi visiting distribution centers and celebrating the impact of our distribution over the past 5 years! We also celebrated the 50th birthday of our Global Head of The Gift of Chess, Susan Namangale,

Russell Makofsky and Tyrone Davis traveled from NYC to Kenya for the 1st time, meeting Ambassadors from Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia and DRC along with partners from India, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and beyond. Our Ambassadors included Tunde Onakoya, Ronald Twikirize, Edgar Barone, Vivan Ibrahim, Julien Josh, Bashige Akili Lwende, Phylis Ngigi, and Susan Namangale.

On our 1st official global council meeting, we unanimously voted to adopt “It is possible to do great things from a small place” as our official slogan.
